The Best Travel Card You Don’t Have

Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card Review

The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card may not get the love on social media of some of it’s travel card competitors, however it provides some nice perks and benefits for the savvy traveler. Capital One’s points systems allows you to buy a flight on any airline, and earn 2x miles per dollar spent on any purchase, any day. If you use your Venture Rewards card to book hotels, you could earn 10x miles through January 2020.

There is no annual fee the first year you have the card, and then you will see $95 billed. At the time of publishing this post, Capital One provided a special offer for new cardholders, where they can earn 50,000 bonus miles once they spend $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.

If you travel internationally, the Venture Rewards card provides no foreign transaction fees, and you can receive a $100 credit for either TSA Pre-check or Global Entry. Expect a purchase annual percentage rate to fall somewhere between 17.99-25.24%.

A few of our favorite features include the extended warranty protection on items you purchase on the Venture Rewards card, something you often find on premium cards from American Express and Chase. You also receive travel accident insurance for any covered loss at no extra charge, and if you rent a vehicle with your card, you will be covered for damage due to collision or theft.

The Venture Rewards Card is ideal for customers with excellent credit (700 FICO score+).
